"Parking"

About: Haworth Medical Practice

I have used the practice since I was born in 1960 and have no complaints about the service I have received over the years.

The problem I had today was that I was unable to park. The carpark was completely blocked with parked and queueing cars and no spaces were available. The signs say parking for patients only but I know from previous experience that staff and visitors use it. I was stuck in the car park for nearly 40 minutes causing me to be late for my appointment. I have a blue badge but I would have used any free space had one been available. I feel very strongly that this issue needs addressing as I have witnessed older, disabled and mums with children trying to find a space. At the very least any able bodied staff should be leaving spaces clear for patients and parking elsewhere. The visitor parking needs to be looked into ensuring patients needs are met. Just for the record none of the cars in the disabled spaces were displaying a blue badge. I look forward to your response.

Thank you for taking the time to review our practice on NHS Choices. Unfortunately, this has been a long standing problem with some people using this as a free carpark. We do have signs up in the carpark regarding unauthorised parking. However we do not have the staff to be able to monitor every car that parks in the car park. I have raised this with the Practice so that further discussions can be had to help monitor this issue.

Kind Regards
