"Absolutely brilliant care and practice "

I am a carer for my daughter who has complex needs and I accompanied her for an operation this week to Solihull elective admissions . Having never been here before I was concerned before we arrived .From start to finish our experience was wonderful. Friendly and empathetic listening staff in all departments. My daughter has special needs and coming to new place can prove challenging . The hospital made every effort to be Incredibly covid safe and clean. The care that she received was second to none, with staff going above and beyond listening to her needs from me as her carer which meant she received timely support but also making sure that I was looked after. I am extremely grateful for the care received in preop ward from the wonderful bubbly hca who took time to put my daughter st ease by chatting and taking a genuine interest in her , to the nurse who diligently took the time to take full and thorough medical history to handover fully to theatre staff. The urology consultants and doctors were wonderful in their manner also despite my daughters complexities .Theatre staff allowing me to support her going to theatre and recovery gave me great reassurance that she would feel safe . The Recovery team brilliant and the support on EPOC ward for next 24 hours was superb . Efficient , kind thorough nurses . Empathetic anaesthetists who took the time to make a huge difference in care throughout the day and night , considering my daughters special needs together with the

nurses, hcas and all involved who went above and Beyond . Thank you so much - I cannot express enough how much your efforts meant to me and my daughter . The NHS at its very best. It is rare as a carer that you receive such respect and this trust shows me at heartlands and Solihull that they have patient interest at heart delivering personalised care .
