I moved to Scotland from another country in 2019 and I have been trying to access cervical screening through Gp surgeries numerous times but have always been denied because my last cervical screening was in 2019 (just before I moved to Scotland). Apparently there is new evidence that determine that cervical screening is meant to happen once every 5 years.
People should still have the right to access one within that time frame and according to the data that is posted on the nhs website 'get checked early' about how many women in the UK are diagnosed with cervical cancer every day etc. How can you tell me that I can't have one until 2024 and what if the one I do then shows it's too late?? Will you take responsibility?
