"Learning to walk"

About: Edgware Community Hospital / Neurological Rehabilitation Centre

(as the patient),

When I came to the rehab centre, I was unable to walk and had to use a wheelchair. The OT staff gave me the confidence to realise that it wouldn't always be this way, and I was encouraged to do more than I thought was possible. The gym is equipped with good equipment, and I was encouraged to use the walking bars. I also had OTs coming to fetch me from my room and walk with me as part of extra exercise.

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. It is lovely to hear how you were able to progress and return to walking with the support of the team here.
