"Skull Base Surgery"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham

I am under the care of a fantastic surgeon who is a specialist in his field of head and neck cancers. I had skull base surgery; from the receptionist who calls to confirm arrangements amongst other support staff, from the admissions team, the surgical team, recovery and EPAC team were absolutely faultless in the support, care, empathy shown towards me. Words cannot express my absolute gratitude towards each and every one of them involved in the removal of my head cancer and subsequent aftercare. I would also like to pay special thanks to another consultant who saw me daily and did another procedure to plug a CSF leak successfully.

The hospital is huge, and often can expect problems to develop but this part of my treatment functioned like clockwork, I had an issue a week into my stay on the ward but that is reported seperately and does not form part of this review. Thank you QE.
