I self referred to A&E with repeated heart palpitations. Despite A&E being very busy I was seen quite quickly and within two hours had had an ECG and had been referred on to Clinic 5 Ambulatory where I received excellent service - a chest x-ray, blood tests and a further ECG. My condition was subsequently diagnosed as AF and I had an excellent meeting with a doctor who took a lot of time to explain things to me and I left with appropriate medication. The end to end time was under 4 hours which I think for an unscheduled visit at a challenging time for the hospital was excellent. I’d like to express my thanks to the A&E team who took my concerns seriously when they were surrounded by many clearly ill and injured patients, and to the ‘clinic 5’ team who were extremely supportive and helpful. It’s easy to criticise when things go wrong but important to give praise when things go well. Thank you.
"Excellent care and service - thank you "
