"Mixed bag"

About: Queen Charlotte's Hospital

I had my baby at Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea Hospital. The team in the labour ward were fantastic and the midwives were extremely helpful and patient , fantastic care, Thank you so so much.

How ever, I was very disappointed with the after care in the post natal ward. I found the midwives very unhelpful and curt and had a bad bed side manner. It was quite a shock after giving birth. At an extremely emotional and vulnerable time like this ,one needs a sympathetic and helpful midwife. I found they weren't helpful at all. I requested for breast feeding help and got none .. was just told to keep trying on my own , no support at all.

It would have been very helpful to have had feeding support but I got none in those early days and so now my baby uses the bottle and finds it difficult to latch.

So I would say my experience was a mixed bag, but am extremely thankful the the team in the labour ward. But wouldn't want to be in the post natal ward again.
