"Visit to out of hour’s Arbroath"

About: Arbroath Infirmary / Minor Injuries

(as a service user),

The team here clearly worked well together in attending to my needs.  They were very caring - from the receptionist to the nurse practitioner (Lauren).  And whilst I waited for a short time I observed that caring nature being applied to others who were also being attended to.  Any anxiousness I had about my reason (allergic reaction) for attending did not last long.  This team were compassionate, caring and professional and a credit to the Arbroath minor injury and illness unit.

Dear Peony!!12

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your response on care opinion. I'm so pleased to hear that you received a caring, professional service when you attended the Minor Injuries and Illness unit (MIIU) in Arbroath Infirmary. The staff work really hard to ensure that they provide the best possible care experience. We are extremely lucky to have such a great team who work very well together, and you're right they are a credit to our service!

The way we access urgent and unscheduled care has changed recently, Patients are now asked to phone NHS 24 prior to attending MIIU. This is to ensure that they are seen by the right person, in the right place, at the right time. This also means that less patients, have to sit, long periods in hospital waiting rooms. Its reassuring to know that you didn't have to wait too long prior to being treated.

Attending hospital can be a very anxious time, especially when you are unwell or in pain. Our staff try to alleviate patient anxieties and concerns and provide a compassionate service to everyone. Having an allergic reaction can be extremely worrying so feeling reassured is very important.

I hope that you are now feeling much better. I will share your very kind review with Lauren and the rest of the team, so thank you again, for sharing your opinion with us, its greatly appreciated.

Take Care

Kind Regards

Anne Black
