"Staff really have been first class"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Emergency Department Daisy Hill Hospital / Male Medical Northern Ireland Ambulance Service

(as the patient),

After suffering from shortness of breath, I phoned an ambulance to take me to hospital. The ambulance crew which brought me to the Emergency Department at Daisy Hill were absolutely fantastic - they were honestly 10/10 - very good.

Moving to the Emergency Department, it was again a good experience and I was very well looked after prior to being moved up to the Male Medical Ward.

Up on the Male Medical Ward it has also been good. The ward itself has been brilliant - no complaints from me. The staff really have been first class. I don't like to mention anyone in particular as all the staff who have looked after me on Male Medical have been brilliant. However, I have to mention both Jessica and Maeve who have been absolutely brilliant to me.

I cannot think of any improvements which could have been made to my care.

Dear moonqn56

Thank you for your very kind compliments towards the crew who attended to you during your recent emergency. We are always very grateful to receive positive feedback however 10 out of 10 is high praise indeed!

Shortness of breath is extremely frightening and I am sure you were relieved when the crew arrived with you to offer their clinical expertise. Reassurance can go a long way towards alleviating our fears, which in turn allows our treatment to have a better effect.

I would very much like to share you compliments with the crew involved with your care however would need a few extra details. If you would be prepared to discuss this further please contact me on amanda.sweetlove@nias.hscni.net

I am delighted your experience from home to ward has been positive and hope that you are feeling a great deal better.

Take care, kind regards

Amanda

Many thanks for your kind words about your experience in male medical.

I will be sure to feed this back to the staff, especially the two you have identified.
