Phoned Surgery and spoke to GP as I could feel my Blood Pressure was elevated. GP prescribed medication which I collected that afternoon. Appointment made with Blood Pressure Nurse at Surgery but as BP still high, medication was increased and further follow-up appointment arranged. GP also made referral for 24 hour monitor to be affixed at hospital as both parents had heart issues. (Stress heart attack and aortic valve replacement). Waited 11 weeks for appointment and have so far waited 6 weeks for results. At 4 weeks after return of monitor, Cardiology Dept advised ‘recordings have not yet been analysed’. Whenever I phone Surgery I’m told ‘the results should be in soon’. Are recordings still valid after 6 weeks? Feel 17 weeks for a diagnosis is a long time even in present climate. I am anxious due to family history, suddenness of high BP and no progress of diagnosis / cause.
