"‘They need more nurses’"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Female Medical

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I came in with a problem with my chest; fluid has built up on my lungs due to my MS. The nurses have been absolutely fabulous and have made me feel so welcomed. The only thing is, is that the ward needs more nurses, they are all rushed off their feet and I feel guilty about having to use the call  buzzer  for even the most basic things as I feel bad for them. They could really do with more nurses on the floor to help them out

Thank you for your feedback, im sorry you felt this way the nursing staff come in every day and provide the best possible care they can with the resources that is given to them. every nurse in fmw gives 100% but yes there is a national shortage of nursing staff and it is having a large impact on service demand. I hope you are well into your recovery post discharge.

warm regards

gemma
