My baby was admitted to the Blossom Ward last month with bronchiolitis.
The ward itself is fantastic, with your own bed, shower room and toilet. It made a difficult stay in hospital that bit more bearable. The staff on the ward were absolutely brilliant. Everyone who walked through the door was so kind, compassionate and understanding. The care my baby received meant so much to me. I would like to thank Caroline, Faith and QUB student Caroline. The nurses and nursing assistants on the ward are so capable and so caring.
I would like to especially mention Faith. I noticed how busy Faith was when she was out on the ward but as soon as she stepped into my baby’s room her whole pace changed. She was there to care for my baby and it didn’t for a second feel like she was too busy for anything. She constantly asked if I needed anything or if I was ok. At one point she was on her hands and knees fixing the bed and the blinds for me. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she never once made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. She explained everything that she was doing and ensured I understood. She was also mentoring student Caroline one day and it was evident that she took the time to explain everything to her too. Her warm personality and her love for her patients shone through and was very much appreciated.
It’s a scary time for parents being in hospital with their children. The friendliness of all the staff made it that bit easier for me. I am incredibly grateful for the Blossom Ward and all its staff. Thank you for taking such good care of us.
