The Fern Centre has been a life line a mist of Covid, isolation and living with cancer. It has become a mini oasis of calm & serenity in the eye of the storm, welcoming, supportive and a relaxing place to be.
Staff and volunteers are so welcoming and the services I have experienced to date have helped me find some time for me to relax and be myself. Helped me find ways to exercise within my own bodies capability, relieves symptoms of treatment and cancer itself, as well as enabling me to find a new swimsuit and bra!
It is lovely to have this facility and services locally without having to travel to Exeter.
I only wish the centre could be turned 180° so when sat in the lovely lounge area, you don't have to see the hospital, and soon there will be a relaxing outdoor oasis to enjoy as being in nature is so healing.
