"Amazingly empathetic reception staff"

About: The Vale Practice

I recently had to go to the practice without an appointment as I had cellulitis on my knee and had waited 2.5 hours in a and e without being seen. I was concerned the septicity was getting worse.

The reception staff were unfailingly kind, attentive, patient and understanding. I heard them dealing with some quite demanding patients on the phone; some with complex needs; a man came in whose first language wasn't English; and more. They were without exception courteous and helpful with ALL patients. Even while I was there a very agitated lad came in who to begin with was bordering on hostile (he had a paranoid schizophrenia diagnosis). They were amazingly sensitive and calm with him and listened without judgement. By the time he left he had completely calmed down and was apologetic for his initial outburst. It seemed to me they genuinely understood. And understood how scary the world can be for someone with serious mental health problems.

I'd like the CQC or someone from Panorama to come and visit and share news of this amazing little place with the nation!
