"Husband with chest pains - everyone working together"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Newport)

(as a relative),

On Friday my husband had chest pains and we rang 111 and an ambulance was sent immediately as he had had a heart attack 11 years ago. The ambulance crew were amazing and after tests my husband was taken into hospital more as a preventative measure. He said he was looked after well in A&E and had loads of tests and never felt he was being left even though everyone was very busy. In the early hours of the morning he was moved to AAU and stayed there until late afternoon when he was sent home feeling confident that his problem had been sorted. He was tested many times for COVID so he felt very safe in the ward. He has nothing but praise for everybody who dealt with him and even enjoyed his two meals that he had. Well done everyone and lovely to see everyone working together.

Dear Park36a

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this positive feedback about Trust services. I am so pleased to read that your husband got the care he required and felt safe with staff at what must of been a frightening time for your both.

I will make sure that this is shared with the teams mentioned in your feedback. I hope your husband continues to recover well.
