Great Organiser @ Armagh /South Lakes Admin Team Vaccinations

My child was due the second covid vaccine and we received a very professional and caring telephone call from a Trust staff member called Aaron to arrange the appointment. Aaron works on the Southern Trust Admin Vaccination Team.

I explained that the child was being admitted into hospital and we hoped that we could still honour Saturdays appointment but we couldn't guarantee it. Aaron spoke to me with the greatest empathy and care, he understood that it was a very anxious time and he didn't want to stress me more. Aaron explained that I was not to worry, that he would ensure that the team would offer another date if we needed to postpone. Aaron took time to ask if we knew how to get to St Luke's Hospital and where it was located and reassured me to phone him if there were any concerns or issues in the meantime. Thankfully the child was discharged from hospital earlier in the week, but at the last minute yesterday I realised that another child had an appointment that would make us late for the vaccine appointment. I rang the vaccine team and Aaron returned my call stating not to worry that he could offer an alternative time today.  Once again he had went completely out his way to ensure that the vaccine appointment wasn't adding any undue pressure.

It's not easy for Trust staff to always accommodate patients and their carers but Aaron seems to know when to go the extra mile. Parents find it hard juggling things, but thanks to Aaron he just made it possible that we could meet the challenges of today by just listening and being supportive. He's a great organiser and should be acknowledged for his great personal qualities.

Aaron, thank you for making life easier this week, it meant a lot. The work you do in the background adds to the success of the vaccine experience. Today's vaccine nurses and admin staff were fantastic and hopefully nursing and support staff like Aaron are not only appreciated by HSCB but rewarded with a pay raise for doing a great job. Well done to the entire South Lakes / St Luke's Hospital Vaccine Team.
