Had appt at ARI for my Nasal Gastric Tube (NGT), like many people things aren't the same, communication not as it was pre C-19 so I was anxious & apprehensive as I had been initially told 6wks on ngt then 2mths, anyway 3mths on & I got an appt via the post, David who I had to contact to ask about appt was great too.
When I got to appt Specialist GI Nurse Sally called me I introduced herself then I broke down I tears, Sally was so kind, professional & with empathy listened to me, then gave me some answers before changing my tube. Sally talked me through the whole procedure when I was ready, then while she changed the ng tube etc talked about what she was doing not once did I feel I was being an awkward patient or some neurotic person. Even suggested a different type of dressing to secure the tube to my face.
I understand the NHS is changing but please remember communication helps a person, I felt like I was in limbo.
Nutricia who delivers my feed keeps saying about my address being rural so there's a delay at times when my pump was squeaking it took 5 days to get replacement as this area they don't do next day delivery.
