"Lovely service but difficult digital booking"

About: The Hathersage Centre

I always feel very safe and confident whenever I come at the Hathersage. However, to be able to step inside the building there is a long way. Covid restrictions are very considerable, although the booking system needs a huge improvement.

It is very hard to catch a slot—you need to be extra fast. Milliseconds. When there is an emergency ( and I am very curious what is classified as an emergency except HIV, as it seems that other infections like gonorrhea, chlamydia etc. doesn't seem to be considered as emergency) what's the procedure? I have been in one of these situations and I was supposed to wait, having all the symptoms of an infection, for 5 days until I could have been seen. In pain and other stuff... Obviously, the tests came positives and I got the treatment very late.

The reception staff is not very friendly and not so confidential, as they have to ask you very loud super embarrassing questions so everyone in the waiting area can hear. However the nurses and doctors are very friendly and confident!

Thank you for your feedback. We welcome all feedback as an opportunity to learn, reflect and evaluate our services.

We do acknowledge our online booking system has an extremely high demand, demand that often outweighs our capacity. We are on the verge of implementing new systems to help improve the access and the process of booking with our service.

Patient Health Record will be a personal app for patients to book via. This will work in conjunction with a new, more refined triage system to better determine patient needs. In turn, this will better prioritise bookings for emergency, complex, urgent and routine appointments.

I am sorry to hear that you felt the receptionists were not friendly or confidential. It can sometimes be difficult for patients and staff to hear one another due to the screens implemented during the pandemic however, I will certainly raise this issue with them and look at alternative ways of maintaining confidentiality.
