"Raigmore Audiology Department aftercare was poor"

When I first had dealings with the audiology department at Raigmore (for hearing aids), the staff were fantastic. My GP at the time warned me that aftercare was poor, but I couldn't see any evidence of that. I was even able to get swift appointments when I had problems with my hearing aids, and felt really supported.

However, my GP was right in that after the first few contacts there was no follow-up service or aftercare of any kind, such as routine hearing tests and reviews of how hearing aids are working. When I have problems now (after several years my hearing aids are no longer working as well) I am just told by an administrator that I've been put on a waiting list. The only option for me is to try to get hearing aids privately, since I depend on them so much.
