"8 hours waiting "

About: Lincoln County Hospital

District Nurse advised us to present my Husband at A&E today. Previously always had exceptional service and full respect for staff battling under extremely difficult circumstances. Eight hours waiting, achieving nothing for a long ongoing problem. No clear waiting times displayed, no communication. When making a polite enquiry asking for some indication as to how much longer after eight hours, no drink or food and darent leave your seat to go to the toilet, to be rudely advised he is not a receptionist and we would have to wait. I tried again to explain I’m a full time Carer for my Husband with a brain injury and poor mobility- un-safe to be left alone and two dogs at home who had been on their own for eight hours with no one else but myself to deal with them and very sadly I cannot be in two places at once. Left me with the worst decision but to leave and the long ongoing situation still un-resolved. I feel truly drained and exasperated and have no words. This system is clearly passed breaking point

We want you to know that we are very grateful for your feedback; unfortunately our services are under significant pressure at the moment with many staff redeployed from their usual roles to help out and this is likely to mean a delay in our response. We apologise for this but want to assure you we will come back to you. Thank you again.

Jennie
