"Being cared for by the best I could ask for"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Gynaecology Services

(as the patient),

Words cannot express my gratitude to Dr Kamran and the team of amazing staff who have cared for me to date.  Starting with Andrea (Sec) and then more recently Lee Ann, I have been supported and cared for in the best way.  I am totally appreciative of the phonecalls and appointments regarding my procedures this year and the time taken to explain, answer and help me make the decision to have the confidence to go for the recommended full hysterectomy.  I feel in a stronger place now, to cope with whatever the histology results bring and again, that's thanks to Dr Kamran's skill, experience and very valuable empathy towards me, so that I was able to follow advice with the least amount of worry possible.

In addition, on arrival at ARI on Monday for my procedure, I was quite overwhelmed by the level of support and reassurance offered by the whole theatre team, especially anaesthetist Emma.  I really believe that her decision to offer both epidural along with GA ensured that I had the most comfortable recovery possible.  I've said this before, but while ARI might not be the biggest hospital in The UK, biggest doesn't always mean best.  When you can't imagine having better care anywhere else, then, there is your answer.  So glad to be living in Aberdeen and being cared for by the best I could ask for; Neurosurgery 2005, Dermatology 2015, Gynaecology 2020-2021.  Thank you DoA Pink Zone, Theatre Staff, Dr Kamran, Emma, Esther Goh (for your amazing support) and the nurses of Ward 309 (many who were significantly younger than me but obviously very well trained and interested in their role).  Hope I wasn't too demanding.  Thanks a million all of you.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I will ensure this is passed on to all the staff and they will be very pleased to hear this. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
