"Patient heal thyself"

About: De Parys Medical Centre

Had a fall & thought I may have dislocated my shoulder - managed to speak to a doctor who said he had booked me in for an x-ray. Get to the hospital- not booked in so had to wait for early an hour for this to be sorted by the hospital receptionist. When I go in for the X-ray he had booked me in for a chest X-ray, not for my shoulder!! Was told they couldn’t do anything about it so had to have a chest X-ray- shoulder is still playing up- had physio by phone which was laughable. I think I may have had Better luck seeing a “medicine man”, at least I would have been expecting a third world service.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that there appears to be some confusion over the request for the x-ray. If you would be kind enough to provide your details we will review the records and ensure that any learning is passed onto the clinician concerned in order that this does not happen again. Please email your details to the practice email address of:

thedeparysgroup@nhs.net

and mark it for the attention of Kim Paradine (Patient Feedback Co-Ordinator)

We will also be able to pass on your feedback to the First Contact Physio service that you refer to. Both the practice physio service and other musculoskeletal services use the telephone consultation facility to good effect therefore I am sure they would welcome the opportunity to review your experience of their service.

Regards

Janet Griffin
