"letting my diabetes readings run high"

About: Fife Community Services / Diabetes Specialist Nurse service

(as the patient),

Due to not being seen at the Diabetic centre for 18 months I had allowed myself to eat chocolate treats when ever I felt the need for something sweet. My doctor arranged for a fasting blood test and the result was not good.My doctor contacted the diabetic nurse and arranged for telephone appointments with me. This was when I spoke to Lynn and her team.

Conversations with Lynn or a member of their team were always easy going

and pleasant to hear them tell me that one or two high readings (10+) were alright and as they were not often not to worry. Over a period of 3-4 month

of phone calls including filling in food/drink intake sheets for the diabetic dietitian.I lost over 2 stone and my blood readings were at an acceptable level and Lynn discharged me. I am very grateful to Lynn and her team for all the help given to me.
