Never been to A&E before, but had to rush my 3 month old daughter there recently.
The A&E entrance is extremely confusing!
You drive in on the right side of the road!? (We’re in the UK). What’s that about?
Then there’s absolutely nowhere to stop. It’s basically just a car park for police cars.
Nothing at all for the public to use.
After looping back through a second time, it still wasn’t clear where we were supposed to go.
Wife and 3 month old just had to bail out of the car in the middle of the road.
Then they had to look for the entrance, which wasn’t obvious, as it was hidden behind a covid tent.
I’m sure it’s fine if you know it… but for those of us who visit once or twice in a lifetime, it’s extremely confusing and counterintuitive. It couldn’t have been designed worse if it was intentionally done badly.
Of all the things that need quick access lay-bys and clear direction, it is A&E.
It needs to be clear to find where you’re going when you’re new to visiting and you’re in a panic.
Yet At Salford, it’s this hidden little part of the hospital, tucked around a corner.
"Almost inaccessible A&E "
