"Too many patients and not enough staff"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 1 North Cardiology Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

A&E is a disaster, too many patients and not enough staff. I was in A&E for 24 hours, the staff are good but they are under severe pressure. I feel it is unfair, it often seems that the people who cause disruptions and are seen first. I understand that this is for patient safety but I think they should be separated and have to wait in line.

The staff in 1 north are  brilliant, I have been in different wards but the staff here are outstanding. I really enjoyed the hospital curry.

Hi,

Unfortunately, staffing gaps and shortages do appear nowadays within the NHS. It is clear that our health and care workforce are personally and professionally plugging the gap between staffing gaps and the demand for care. The department has been under immense pressure these last few weeks, there has been a significant number of patients waiting in ED on admission beds. this leads to overcrowding and reduced capacity in ED.

Regards

Amy
