"Poisoned finger"

About: Arbroath Infirmary / Minor Injuries NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as the patient),

After contacting 111 on request, I was very happy with the service provided right from my initial contact through to receiving treatment at local centre where staff were very professional and completed treatment and procedure in just a number of hours.

Dear Hapzn64,

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion. I was sorry to read that you had had a poisoned finger - I know how painful this can be. I hope your finger is now healing well.

I was pleased to read that your experience with NHS 24 and NHS Tayside had been so positive. This is the sort of experience that we want for all of our callers, and I was pleased to read that you had been cared for professionally and quickly.

If you would like to contact me directly and provide me with your details, I would be pleased to share your feedback with the staff involved in your care - I'm sure they will be delighted to read your story. Dear Hapzn64

Thank you for your lovely comments on care opinion. The Scottish Government is encouraging health boards to make changes to the way that we access urgent and unscheduled care. Patients are now asked to contact NHS 24 prior to attending our service. This is to ensure that patients are seen in the right place, by the right person at the right time. It sounds like you received a prompt and efficient service from NHS 24 and Arbroath Minor Injuries and Illness unit (MIIU), which is what we aim to deliver to all patients.

It's reassuring to know that staff were very professional and you were happy with the care provided. I hope your infected finger is now improving and you may even be back to washing the dishes - although this is debatable if its a good thing or not!!

I will share your very positive post with staff in MIIU who will be very pleased you were happy with the care provided. Thank you again for taking the time to post your response, your feedback helps us to improve our service, and is very much appreciated.

Take Care

Kind Regards

Anne Black
