My 92 year old mother was admitted around 9 am today after a suspected Stroke in her Care Home. I have had to try for hours to find out anything at all about how she was. I was told she was still in A&E so rang them and reception tried to put me through and also gave me a direct number. However it just rang and rang and rang. Eventually after 6+ hours I spoke to a Dr. I asked if I was able to visit her - I am double jabbed and did a test - but was told I was not able to. I can try ringing the Stroke Ward tomorrow to see what they say. It is so hard for a 92 year old to have to go through all of this without any family support so for the least it would be beneficial if someone could at least phone the next of kin earlier than 6 hours after admittance, All very upsetting.
"So difficult to contact anyone!"
