"Outstanding care in the emergency department"

About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service

(as the patient),

I had an unfortunate bike accident resulting in a dislocated shoulder. The care I received throughout was exceptional. The ambulance crew was very professional and made sure I get adequate pain relief and travel well. In the emergency department I was cared for very well, my shoulder was replaced. Everything was explained, what will happen, what can I expect. The staff went out of their way to help me in this unfortunate situation, they made sure I was safe and help is in place for me at home.

Dear Septemberec43

I am sorry to read about your shoulder. I hope that you are feeling much better now and on the road to a full recovery. having (thankfully) never dislocated my shoulder before, I can't imagine the pain that you must have endured. It looks extremely uncomfortable.

I am pleased however to read the kind comments you have made about our crew and about the staff of our partners in the wider NHS. It is clear that they have made quite the impression. If you would like, my team can arrange to have your kind words passed directly to the crew. In order to do this we would just need to know your name as well as the the date, time and location we picked you up from. This will allow us to find the job and identify the crew. If you would like for this to happen you can email sas.feedback@nhs.scot and if you wouldn't mind making reference to your CareOpinion username so that the staff can easily link it back to this story.

Thanks again and I wish you all the very best! Hopefully you will be back cycling soon.

Alan
