Karrol, a healthcare assistant from the enhanced care team, has been amazing. She has been on one to one with me all day. I came for a suicide attempt, ending in ITU on a ventilator and nearly died.
Karrol went above and beyond, just care alone, she took me to the shops, making me feel normal and happy and also to the church gardens that was so helpful as getting off ward is important when you are in hospital. Not all care assistants do all of this. I was able to get some nail varnish which will help distract me from negative thoughts.
