"springview -lakefield ward"

No body likes being in hospital ,however i found Lakefield ward :- staff caring and approachable (tho a bit overloaded due to covid ,hols etc)i found the ward clean, food good (sometimes to much !!). veggie well catered for (myself) .my room clean and well lit and en-suite bathroom .a big improvement than "the old days".i was "in " with severe depression, i found the staff to be understanding and didnt "push" they let me do things at my own pace..when im ready.if im having a bad day .stay in my room (tho still on obs) .thats fine. and if i want to talk to staff ..thats fine to .staff brill and domestics brill as to .they kept my room spotless and they to made a big part in my recovery ,easy to talk to ,as all.ot staff .all played their part and worked well as a team .again all this at my own pace.i was never forced into doing anything i didnt want to do ..perhaps gently "nudged" at times . but never pressured . during my stay . i went through some really bad times . i was on a roller coaster of emotions ,compounded by life events ,but staff were always there and never gave up on me.i would often be up at 4.am (im an early bird ) and would talk quietly with staff with a coffee, others i would prefer to be in my room listening to music or tv on my laptop, always on obs as we all where (to different degrees ).i must stress i was in no way ignored or neglected ,or abandoned .just as i say at my own pace, some days being better than others, when on level 1 .i would go out for walks on a nature footpath .i found staff to be totally professional in every way and always generated a positive atmosphere, i always felt safe ,secure and my needs met at all times, having lived alone i found the on ward laundry very helpful.june however i found the staff struggling a bit due to covid , holidays etc and ward expanded from 20 beds to 28. even then dedicated staff come in on their days off etc and close to burn out .,even then patient care came first my only critism is that "at times ".i "felt". communication with doctors physical/mental/consultants could be a little better .at times i felt a little frustrated .until things were explained to me , tho i understand they have many patients and only a little time with each one. all said 5 stars . .but as i say . No body wants to be in hospital in the first place and often hospitalisation is the very last resort . LAKEFIELD./ DOMESTICS/O.T/CRISIS TEAMS/ DOCS......THANK YOU !!!!
