"Urgent phone not manned"

About: Royal Eye Infirmary

I was given the urgent care phone number by the REI Plymouth. I have tried on numerous occasions to get through today, 10/9/21. I am always "number 1 in the queue" even after holding for 45 minutes, then 20 minutes 59 seconds therefore something is wrong some where.

Mr Ben Porter, Clinical Admin Manager for REI has responded to say:

Please apologise to the patient on our behalf. Unfortunately, on that particular day the system went down and failed which meant it wasn’t working properly which could be the cause of the extensive wait. The system is back up and working now so we shouldn’t experience the same problem again.
