My father was a patient in Ward 6C at the Queen Elizabeth for a number of days recently. He has asked me to thank the team responsible for his care.
He would like me to thank Dr Davie for taking the time to talk to him and reassure him that he was on the right track, he would like to thank his nurse Jacob for being someone to talk to about his "interests" (my dad is football mad so that's probably what he means by that!) as well as for treating him with care and compassion and he would also like to thank cleaners George and Joanne for being professional and thorough with their cleaning as he had been worried about coming into hospital during a virus pandemic.
Everyone of you are a credit to the NHS, including the auxilliary nurse that helped us find a wheelchair and kept my dad company. We cannot remember your name but you are a star. I know it takes dozens of people to provide healthcare and we don't see most of you so I would also like to thank other staff working away in the background.
One negative was the lifts used to get to the ward and back again, people were piling into them despite signs recommending social distancing. My dad was very scared about this, we hope something can be done to sort this (maybe signs advising of a maximum capacity?) as it ruins an otherwise glowing review of my dad's stay.
"Dad was well taken care of"
