On 31st September I was rushed in with lower abdominal pain. For a few months I’ve been suffering with this but didn’t want to go near a hospital and used medication prescribed by my GP. I couldn’t take it anymore and I’d no option but to present myself to A+E via ambulance. I’ve had no hunger, appetite, no urge to eat and anything I did eat went right through me with diarrhoea or vomiting. I’ve lost over 2& half Stone in weight in 6 weeks. So back to being brought to hospital, I was kept in for 4 days and in this time I was to get a colonoscopy done but on 3 different times 1 time each day it was cancelled. I was then told I could go home by the consultant that an urgent colonoscopy would be arranged as an outpatient.
I contacted day procedures unit today and they’ve no recollection of me in the system. So why say it was to be urgent when 5 days later I phone and no one has any recollection of my urgent Colonoscopy? As I write this I’m in considerable pain and wondering do I go back to A+E and go through the whole system again as I don’t want to keep throwing pain relief into myself. I’ve had serious problems with my bowel before ( Volvulus - Twisted bowel ) that required surgery and I run back and forth for year and half. I’m not prepared to do that again because of doctors not doing what they promised me.
