"Good Services "

About: Salisbury District Hospital

I have just been discharged from having our little girl. I was induced and stayed on the labour ward for 3 days before moving to post natal for 1 day.

Staff on labour ward were very attentive when you rung the bell. I felt the care given to my little one was great during the induction and was Consistent. Saw lots of different midwifes which I fortunately got very confusing as it wasn’t always clear who was looking after you on the shift. There was a clear lack of staffing in regards to MCA’s. Spent 3 days there and not once was mine or any of the bed sheets changed. Only twice was my water jug refilled. And was not offered any other drinks while there. Breakfast often wasn’t offered you had to ring and ask for it. Once transferred to the post natal ward the care I received was second to none. Fantastic attentive staff who really reassured me and supported me during my recovery. I would also like to add that the care I received from all the team during my c-section was above and beyond. I felt so well looked after and reassured. A terrifying situation made much better, in a calm controlled environment. Felt completely safe and able to enjoy the arrival of our little one. Thank you all on the maternity ward for your fantastic work

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback; delighted that on the whole your experience was a positive one but sorry that a lack of staffing impacted on your experience. We will share your feedback with the maternity team
