"Excellent procedure for my cataract operation "

About: Blackheath Hospital

The actual surgery was first class but the aftercare needed a lot to be desired. I got an infection in the eye that was operated on and the NHS BMI could offer no support because there wasn’t any permanent eye department in situ. Eventually I went to St.Thomas’s to visit the emergency eye department where I was advised that I had an infection and prescribed steroid drops to use for a month. If I was offered an hospital with a permanent eye department I could have gone there. It was very stressful time because sight is so very precious and having no support in place after eye surgery.
