My usually healthy son became very suddenly Unwell one day this summer. Understanding these were symptoms of possible meningitis: a fast-spreading rash that didn’t disappear under glass, headache, temperature etc, I called for an Ambulance.
The paramedics arrived in good time and were able to make quick decisions in order to start treatment for my young son. They gave him a penicillin injection into his thigh within an hour of him becoming unwell. Timing is everything with suspected meningitis, and the staff were extremely competent, kind and reassuring to both my son and I, the fast treatment ultimately could have saved his life.
The hospital staff were also all excellent. It was clear they were extremely busy, and I can only imagine how difficult the past year has been. Thank you for your excellent care, and for ensuring my son had such fast, effective treatment.
"Fantastic, potentially life-saving treatment "
