"Help with past traumas"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as a service user),

I want to use the opportunity to say a big thanks to Inclusion Thurrock. I was at a bad state where I thought the only way out was suicide. I passed through different traumas including domestic and sexual assault which resulted in flashback, nightmare, panic attack and so on. I do go out at night, low self esteem.

I was assigned to J at Inclusion Thurrock and the sessions took months but J was calm and will share experience with me and took me through recovery perfectly. At a point I can not sleep, sweat from the extremities was lot, and for years I do not go close to female because of the scaring effect from past and childhood.

J helped me in building self love, to speak out because where I came from, you dare not speak out because of fear of persecution, and I am on the road to recovery.

I did not know the importance of therapy but now I know because it really help in building my self worth and confidence and to process past trauma in an effective manner.

Finally, I appreciate the privilege and support from Inclusion Thurrock because it is priceless.

Dear Jumbo11,

Firstly, I’d like to thank you for your kind words. I’m so pleased to hear that you’re building up a sense of self love, self-worth and confidence. These 3 ingredients are the key to a fulfilling recovery and improved lifestyle. You mentioned that you were not aware of the importance of therapy and you'd been taught not to speak out about your experiences. It’s essential to understand that regardless of where you are from, you matter and your voice deserves to be heard. I think that you speaking about your personal experiences will encourage others to seek help too.

Now that you've developed the tools to process your trauma, I hope you can continue to apply them to your daily life.

I wish you nothing but the best for the future,

Femi
