"Vale of Leven Renal Unit"

About: Vale of Leven General Hospital / Renal Unit

(as the patient),

I was saddened to read stories from others about poor experiences at this unit.  Maybe there should be a staff member appointed as the patient liaison on each shift so that should a patient have a complaint or even a suggestion they will know whom to speak to.

I have found the staff to be exceptional. Of all my dealings with the NHS I would rank the staff here to be head and shoulders above any other discipline I have encountered. On a daily basis, I witness medical professionalism, empathy and the highest of patient care.

I have witnessed the calm civility when a patient succumbs to their illness and the pride when a patient has a successful transplant.

They have enrichened my quality of life and for that, I will always be grateful.

I am delighted to hear of your positive experiences within the unit and thank you for your very kind comments which will be shared with the team. It means a lot when the staff’s hard work and dedication is recognised by their patients, especially when you tell them that they have ‘enriched your quality of life’.

We welcome feedback and the Senior Charge Nurse or Nurse in Charge are happy to listen to any suggestions or to discuss any issues when they arise in the Unit.
