"Compassionate care"

About: Southmead Hospital

After a mammogram abnormality I was referred to the breast care centre. I required a biopsy and then a further biopsy. Despite the pressure on appointments I was seen quickly for both biopsies. The kindness and consideration shown by the clinical team was exceptional, especially during the biopsies. As a GP I recognise how important it is to put people at ease whilst imparting the facts and also how hard this can be to do when people are scared. This team are able to do this with compassion and skill. Well done to everyone in this team particularly whilst working in the pandemic.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide your feedback regarding your experience when you attended the Breast Care Centre. I am glad you were able to be seen quickly and that the staff were able to provide reassurance and put you at ease. Please be assured your comments you will be shared with the team. With kind regards, Sue Needs, Complaints Manager.
