"No timed phone appointments at Speedwell, only…"

About: The Speedwell Practice

Practice does not give timed phone appointments. You have to be available between 9am and 5pm. I was told the reason for this is because when they did give timed appointments, they were so often running late, that they were inundated with phone calls!! I suppose removing timed appointments it is one way to solve the problem of physicians not able to manage appointments in a timely fashion. Even the gas company can do better than that! Good to know that their patients are here for the Speedwell practice, rather than the other way around!!

Following triage patients are booked an appointment 1-14 days in advance and are notified either by telephone or SMS with an appointment date, time, name of clinician and whether the appointment is face to face or telephone.

If the GP has triaged and feel it is 'urgent' for the same day, they will phone you once they have triaged all 80 patients. But if the GP feels you need to come in, they will ask admin to phone you with an appointment time.

Please contact our practice manager manager.speedwell@nhs.net with your details so she can listen to the call recording as there may have been a misunderstanding or the information you were given was wrong and therefore she will need to follow this up directly with the person concerned.

We would like to reassure you that we do provide an appointment time for all patients following triage.

Thank you for your feedback.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Speedwell
