After 2 months of treatment for gallstone obstruction in my bike duct at Good Hope and Heartlands I was admitted to Solihull Hospital 17/08/2021 for my gallbladder removal. I have to say the nursing staff were exceptional with regards to care, friendliness and treatment. Although I was last in the list for surgery I still had to be admitted at 08:00 so I was hanging around all day, and because of a potential issue with jaundice, which could have postponed my surgery, my procedure went ahead at about 16:30 after requesting recently results of blood tests from my GP. The nursing and care team helped by keeping me talking and reassuring me all was going to be ok. I was able to return home at 22:30 on the same day as planned.
I also would like to praise the surgeons, theatre technicians, and nursing teams for their speed of response as soon as the decision to go ahead in removing my gallbladder. Thanks again to all the teams. I'm back at home now with a little discomfort but no chronic pain.
"Caring and helpful staff."
