"Light hearted atmosphere"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Stroke Care

(as a service user),

Generally speaking I have nothing but high praise for all the staff inolved in my care during my stay. Their attitude was very professional  but there was a lovely light hearted atmosphere in each ward I was in 3F which was particularly pleasant (I think maybe because I was in there for the longest period of time). The only critisicm I have is the lengthy wait from being told of discharge to actual discharge - such a waste of bed not being available for new patients. However, I do realise that is out of the hospitals hands. So, in conclusion I'm very impressed by the dedication of all the staff in the stroke ward. The cleaners keep it spotless, the nursing staff cheerfully administer help and doctors and therapists are very imprssive in knowldge and practice. More power to you elbow crosshouse! !

Dear telescopiumxb77,

It is so nice to read about your positive experience during your stay in 3E/F. As well as all the investigations and treatment, equally important is care and compassion. I am glad you found this during your time in the units.

Being in hospital is such a difficult time and there is no place like home. I am sorry that you had a wait from being told you could go home until you got discharged. Often this is due to waiting for medication or results of investigations. Where possible we would transfer patients to the discharge lounge to wait for medications or transport. I am sorry if there was a delay in you getting home.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments via care opinion. The staff will be delighted to read your feedback.

I hope you are now feeling better.

Best Wishes,

Christine and Staff ASU.
