"Pre assessment UHW with my Dad"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Pre Operative Assessment

(as a relative),

I just wanted to write to say how helpful Jeanette was at the pre assessment clinic on 28th July when my Dad was being assessed for surgery. He was there most of the day and she made the experience more pleasant for him by talking to him and explaining everything that was happening. She had a bright cheery manner about her and also accommodated me being with him when he requested that. Thank you!

My Dad attended the pre assessment clinic and spoke to Dr Simpson the Anaesthetist who was very attentive to ensure he was prepared as best as possible before surgery. He found her explanations helpful and she arranged for some required treatment changes.

My Dad is in Wd 13 UHW and he is very pleased with the care and attention he is receiving. He says that all the staff are lovely and particularly mentioned Gemma. He is impressed about how hard the staff work and yet they are always cheery and nice to speak to. Thanks from him and the family.

Dear Happy68

Thank you very much for taking time to share the details of your dad's experience when attending for his pre-admission assessment and thereafter his inpatient admission to Ward 13 at University Hospital Wishaw

I am delighted to read that during his assessment both Jeanette and Dr Simpson were able to put him at ease and he was satisfied with all the information he was given prior to his procedure. Thank you also for your lovely comments relating to the staff in Ward 13, in particular Gemma. I'm sure it is reassuring for your family to know that he feels well cared for and that the staff are keeping him cheery. It will be my pleasure to share your post with all the staff you have mentioned, as well as the wider team.

I hope your dad has a full recovery from his procedure and that he will be home soon.

Kind regards.

Lesley
