"Painful Experience"

About: Kent & Canterbury Hospital

I have ulcerative colitis and need colonoscopies at regular intervals. I have had quite a few of these over the years whilst living in Oxford. I moved to Kent 2019 and needed a colonoscopy May last year. Although the nurses were caring and lovely people I found the actual experience very painful indeed. I was always sedated whilst undergoing these horrible procedures in Oxford and they did their upmost to make it as pain free as possible. This did not happen at the Canterbury hospital. It was very painful, and very roughly completed. This is also embarrassing for the patient. I know the hospitals are busy, and I truly do respect the Drs and nurses, and I am thankful for all the Drs and nurses do, but please think of how the patient feels whilst undergoing this procedure, please ensure the patient is not experiencing unnecessary pain. You know the patient is also worried about the outcome. I know and appreciate the Drs and nurses are busy, but the patients are human. Thank you
