My care started at Inverurie and I have nothing but positives for all the midwifes and the lady's who scan you, my community midwife and the aftercare when I left hospital. I was high risk so most of my appointments moved to Aberdeen maternity hospital, I was petrified of this ... however I had no reason to be. Most individuals were friendly and very reassuring. I went in for my induction in early July and had the balloon inserted! The midwife was really friendly and I felt at ease. The following day I went and had it removed to find out my baby had flipped and was now breach. The midwifes and doctors in triage were all friendly and very informative and helped me feel at ease, especially with us then deciding the best thing to do was have a c-section. The doctors etc in theatre were amazing and it was all calm and relaxed and a very positive experience, especially as I was terrified. We then moved to Summerfield ward (upstairs) I was there for 4 days as unfortunately I needed to be re-catheterised. Every single midwife was amazing, none of them had any faults and nothing was too much for them. Especially Amanda on nights and Jo on days. They were incredible and I will be eternally grateful to both of them for all their help and encouragement.
The infant feeding team were absolutely amazing! Even after I left the hospital I came back in for an additional bit of support and no judgement was made from anyone. Thank you very much!
The only bit that I personally found disappointing was the way I was made to feel by the pediatric doctor in relation to my daughter loosing too much weight, however I do not want to deflect from how positive an experience the rest of my stay and care was! Thank you very much.
