I bought my mother to A&E have had an accident in the kitchen. She is 90 years old and had cut her finger, fallen over and hit her head. She was admitted to A&E, received xrays of her pelvis and hips, a head scan and referred to the frailty ward before she was eventually discharged having had her finger stitched.
I was concerned that she was on her own and had not eaten or had anything to drink. She was given a sandwich and a drink at lunchtime and a sandwich at teatime with a cup of tea. She could not praise the treatment and care she received more highly and nor can I. She was dicharged with no problems, except needing her dressing changed by a district nurse.
The doctors and nurses called me to keep me updated with her progress and they could not have been more informative or helpful. I was very impressed and most grateful for her care.
Please make sure that this gets passed to the relevant professionals who looked after, with my and my mother's thanks.
