"Headache "

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

I have recently moved into the area and have been visiting the hospital maternity services. I have had countless issues with the pay machine which doesn’t show my car registration and so I have to pay manually. On every occasion I get a ticket through the post which I have to appeal. It’s been stressful and regardless of who we contact the issues isn’t sorted. Being 38 weeks pregnant it’s the last thing I need to worry about.

What was even more upsetting than the above was my visit to the children a and e department tdoay. My son hurt himself and me and my husband took him to a and e on the advice of the 111 service. I explained to the head nurse mt situation that zim heavily pregnant and live 30 minutes away and don’t feel comfortable staying alone (we have no family or friends around) Incase I went into labour. Also they I can’t carry my son around so need my husbands help. I asked if under these circumstances I could stay with my husband and son and they could overlook the one parent rule. The head nurse told me no and asked one of us to go wait in the car. I had to do this as I couldn’t handle my son alone with carrying him and his changing bag.

I feel some compassion would have been appreciated and am highly disappointed. I had to sit in a car so heavily pregnant as it was raining like mad. When they tired me out I’d walk through the rain and walk a little before retrieving to the car.

Really disappointing.
