"Covid lateral flow testing"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Covid swabbing unit

(as the patient),

I have previously attended the testing cell. Having a lateral flow test the same day means I don’t have to wait long before my appointment. I also haven’t had to visit the hospital twice. The information leaflet was helpful. Directions to the drive through weren’t helpful and were followed the old test centre. This caused us some worry we would make the actual procedure on time. The nurse was amazing and reassuring for the test. So friendly and kind. She explained what was happening and why.

I would use the service again however please make sure directions are much clearer.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience. I'm so glad you found the same day testing convenient and the information leaflet helpful.

I do apologise for the confusion in location. We have recently moved to the car park,in response to patients finding the road to the old testing hub difficult to access. Unfortunately there has not been the opportunity to change the signage, but it is hoped this will be rectified soon.

I am so pleased you found the staff friendly and kind, we do try our best!

I just wanted to update you further on your recent feedback. We have now updated our letters and leaflets to ensure that the directions to the drive-thru covid swabbing are much clearer and removed the old signage. This has been in place for a few weeks now and it has improved the service.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. You feedback allowed us to make a change to improve the patient experience.
