I came to Daisy Hill's Emergency Department after feeling breathless. I was seen very quickly and also received a scan very quickly. I was very impressed with my time in A&E, receiving a visit from the consultant as well as lots of attention from the nurses.
I was then transferred to female medical. The ward is grand - all the nurses are very nice, caring and extremely helpful. I especially like how I have been kept informed about my condition and care throughout my stay. Overall, it has been a very positive experience.
I have only had a few minor inconveniences. Firstly, the ward has been a bit cold. However, I understand that there has to be appropriate ventilation due to the risk of COVID-19 spread. Thankfully the nurses were able to help me and got me a few extra blankets which I was grateful for. Another very minor thing was that when I came onto the ward, I received the meal for the person who was in the bed before me - and I didn't really fancy it. I feel that it would be better if you could initially have the choice - but I understand the logistics behind this may be too difficult.
"A very positive experience on female medical"
