I came in yesterday morning to A&E and I was very content with my experience. The receptionist was amazing at controlling such a hectic situation down there and I admire their communication and leadership skills in being able to control what was going on.
I was diagnosed very quickly and surprisingly didn't have to wait long at all to be seen by the medical and nursing team in A&E. I feel like the staff down there did everything they could for me in terms of tests and examinations and this was really reassuring as no stone was left unturned. Everything being done throughout this time was explained to me so well and I felt listened to and involved in decisions surrounding my care.
The environment in A&E was very clean as well and this made me comfortable during my wait, its a credit to all the cleaning staff, they don't get praised enough. Due to Covid I was reluctant to come into hospital but when my pain got so bad I knew I had to, I found it really comforting to see all staff sanitizing before examining me or carrying out any tests, as well as this they were all wearing the appropriate PPE in terms of masks and visors.
Now up in ward 4 North, I have no complaints at all. I am made comfortable and mu pain is managed so well. All members of staff have been excellent as treat me so well, from porters to kitchen staff to nurses and doctors, everyone just can't do enough for me. As soon as staff were made aware of my needs they met them, they have all been courteous, polite and respectful and have listened to me as a patient. I never feel out of the loop or in the dark with regards to my care which is a really great feeling to have.
